HELLO FROM THE FARM!

The photo above captures some of the beautiful scenery of our 111 acre property, in Charleston SA, including the flower patch as it stands in early 2024. Together with my family, we have created something special here to share with our local community and florist friends.

Was it always my plan to be a flower farmer? Not at all (but I do come from a family of farmers so I guess it’s not that surprising). After we purchased this property in 2021 I had an idea to grow cut flowers and that was all it took. So with little to no gardening experience, that Spring, I convinced my husband Daniel to help prep the first flower bed and haven’t looked back. From 6 beds in the first growing season to 56 at present…and counting!

The flower patch currently sits on a third of an acre with chosen flowers grown for picking through the months of Spring to Autumn, both perennials and annuals. It is not my intention to grow everything I possibly can. Instead, I continue to trial different flowers to see what grows best for my location, what customers love and what I enjoy growing as the seasons come and go. It’s amazing how many flowers can be produced from only a small area.

With the introduction of Pick Your Own sessions, I think I’ve found my why. I absolutely love inviting others along to experience what I get to every day and share our beautiful blooms with everyone. It’s been so lovely meeting other flower lovers and seeing their enjoyment in what I’ve created.

So here’s to another fun flower season ahead. I can’t wait to bring even more ideas to life and meet more of you in person!
